For Natalie-style Lent (which I started at the beginning of the month), I gave up candy. For me, that's a HUGE sacrifice because I'm a stress eater and I nearly always go for carbs. I think the 5 days sans-candy has impacted my running because today was a really hard run.
March 5 = 10 miles
March 3 = 8 miles

Why did you start Lent early?
I'm chowing down on all my wheat so I can start on Wednesday. :)
I started early because.... well... I'm not Catholic, so I can do it any way I want, which meant it was easier for me to think calendar month.
